This video (which I believe is from The Lost Experience) gives a big clue about the powers of the island, and shows where future episodes might be heading. Apparently, it is possible for 2 of one thing to exist (probably by using some kind of time travel or phase jump, where those 2 #15 rabbits are the same beast existing in different areas of time, or something like that). I'll leave further theories to you...
